Experienced SEN Teacher - Primary Pupil Referral Unit - South Manchester - Immediate Start - Temporary with the potential to become permanent

Your New CompanyHays Education is working in partnership with a well-established and inclusive primary school in South Manchester that specialises in supporting pupils with complex social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school is committed to providing a nurturing and structured environment where every child can achieve their full potential through personalised learning and therapeutic support.

Your New RoleWe are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join a dedicated team supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, autism, and behavioural challenges. This full-time role involves planning and delivering differentiated lessons to small groups of primary-aged pupils, using a trauma-informed approach and working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and senior leaders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEN strategies and be confident managing challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive way.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - not suitable for ECTs
  • Proven experience teaching pupils with SEN, particularly SEMH and autism
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A creative, resilient, and nurturing approach to teaching
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through Hays
