Sports Coach - SEN School, Tameside

About the Role:Hays Education is recruiting on behalf of a fantastic SEN school in Tameside. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sports Coach to join the team. This role involves working with students who have special educational needs, helping them to develop their physical abilities, confidence, and teamwork skills through a variety of sports and physical activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant coaching qualifications and experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging and inclusive sports sessions.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting the development of all students.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess a range of sports and physical activities tailored to the needs of SEN students.
  • Assist the teachers in PE & outdoor activities, Horticulture and class excursions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, adapting sessions as necessary to meet individual needs.
  • Promote the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyles within the school community.
