Are you an experienced procurement professional with a passion for sourcing critical raw materials in a technical environment? We are seeking a Technical Buyer to join our clients dynamic Supply Chain team and play a key role in supporting the growth of their Speciality Dyes and Chemicals Business Unit.

What You'll Do

In this pivotal role, you will manage the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring the availability of high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant raw materials. You'll build strong supplier relationships, implement supply chain resilience strategies, and collaborate across departments to support operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sourcing, selection, and contract negotiation for chemical raw materials.
  • Utilising your chemical knowledge (academic or industry) to be able to understand the technical aspect of the chemical raw material you are purchasing.
  • Ensure materials meet technical and regulatory specifications.
  • Develop alternative sourcing and contingency plans.
  • Monitor supplier performance and handle complaints.
  • Benchmark pricing and maintain a network of suppliers via trade shows and travel.
  • Partner with internal teams on stock planning, ordering patterns, and lead times.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects requiring sourcing expertise.

What You Bring:

  • A degree in Chemistry or a related field (Required).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
  • Experience within the chemical industry is must or will be a bonus if you have a Chemistry related degree. Understanding the raw materials you are purchasing is key.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
