We have an extensive pipeline of projects scheduled into 2025/26, covering a variety of exciting sectors including large-scale hospitality, heritage restorations, residential developments, retail enhancements, and mixed-use schemes. We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator, or an Estimator ready to step up, to join our proactive Pre-Construction team.

Role Overview

This position is based at our North West head office and involves the management and preparation of high-quality tender submissions and bids in line with internal processes and industry best practice. Reporting to senior leadership, you will work across multiple project types, engaging closely with operational, design, and commercial teams to deliver competitive, compliant proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop estimating strategies tailored to a diverse range of sectors and project requirements.
  • Prepare tenders and cost submissions for single-stage, two-stage, negotiated contracts, cost plans, and budgets.
  • Manage all incoming tender documentation, including updates, addendums, and clarifications.
  • Compile and issue tender enquiry packages to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Carry out detailed tender analysis to review compliance, scope, quantities, preliminaries, and contractual terms.
  • Support the selection of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring robust pricing and full specification compliance.
  • Undertake accurate measurement and quantification for all tendered works.
  • Collaborate with operational, planning, and design teams to prepare competitive, coordinated bids.
  • Maintain up-to-date market awareness, including build cost per square foot and benchmarking data.
  • Keep informed on current construction techniques and modern materials.
  • Provide feedback to the Quantity Surveying team, comparing estimated and actual costs for continual improvement.

Skills & Attributes

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with estimating software such as Conquest and associated take-off tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and detail-oriented.
  • Full UK driving licence.
