Job Title: Structural Steel Estimator
Location: Walkden, Manchester
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Hours: Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:00, Friday 07:30 – 13:00

Our client, a leading structural steel fabrication company, is looking for an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in steel estimation who can manage enquiries, visit sites, prepare accurate quotes, and convert orders into manufacturing packages. You will play a key role in maintaining excellent client relationships while identifying new business opportunities.

Structural Steel Estimator Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate quotations and convert enquiries into manufacturing packages.
Visit client sites to understand requirements and provide professional guidance.
Identify the most efficient fabrication processes and associated costs.
Communicate effectively with workshop teams, project managers, and clients.
Negotiate and complete tenders to secure sales.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, identifying new opportunities.
Manage workload independently, ensuring timely and high-quality responses to all enquiries.

Structural Steel Estimator Skills & Experience

Minimum of 3 years’ experience estimating structural steel projects.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and extract material requirements.
Strong knowledge of the steel fabrication sector and related supply chains.
Proven track record of client-facing sales and relationship management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
Strong numerical, financial, and commercial awareness.
IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
Proactive, highly organised, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
