About the Company

Our client is a leading player in the advanced materials manufacturing sector, recognised for innovation, technical expertise, and a strong reputation for delivering high-performance solutions to global customers. With continued growth and investment in their Manchester site, they are seeking to appoint an experienced QHSE Manager to drive forward standards in quality, health, safety, and environmental performance.

The Role

As QHSE Manager, you will take responsibility for ensuring compliance across all relevant standards and legislation, embedding a culture of continuous improvement and safety throughout the organisation. You will work closely with senior leadership and operational teams to maintain accreditations, lead audits, and enhance systems that support business excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QHSE policies, procedures, and systems in line with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and industry regulations.
  • Lead internal and external audits, maintaining certification requirements and driving corrective actions.
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and implement effective preventative measures.
  • Provide coaching and training to employees at all levels to strengthen QHSE awareness and culture.
  • Analyse performance metrics and report findings to the leadership team, recommending improvements.
  • Act as the site's QHSE champion, promoting best practice and continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in a QHSE leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO management systems and auditing practices.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent qualification essential.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills with the ability to drive change across all levels.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
