Job Purpose:

The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a welcoming and professional environment. This role ensures the smooth operation of the front desk by managing appointments, handling inquiries, and supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks.

Location: Blackley

Pay Rate: 12.51ph

Hours: 12:30pm - 6:30pm - Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays

A Standard DBS Certificate is required for this role.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Interaction:
    • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Answer phone calls, emails, and respond to inquiries promptly.
    • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate patient records and update information in the system.
    • Process payments, issue receipts, and manage billing queries.
    • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Compliance & Confidentiality:
    • Ensure patient confidentiality in line with GDPR and practice policies.
    • Follow health and safety protocols within the reception area.
  • Support to Clinical Team:
    • Prepare and manage documentation for consultations.
    • Assist with prescription requests and referrals as directed.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting (preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in using practice management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (advantageous).
