Role Overview

Proactive personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner. As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and cost-effective planning of our pallet network operations. You will be responsible for coordinating daily collections and deliveries, optimising vehicle routes, and ensuring compliance with transport regulations and company standards.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9- 5.30pm, the occasional Saturday morning may pop up depending on business needs and paid as overtime

Will have to cover holidays for all other shift patterns which are 5.30am-2pm & (phone number removed)pm which is approximately 9 weeks of the year.

This role requires excellent communication skills, strong geographical knowledge, and the ability to make effective, time-sensitive decisions in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning Irish Export Trailers (Dublin & Belfast)
  • Planning our multi drop C&D vehicles effectively to achieve on time deliveries (Holiday cover)
  • Ensure all customer collections are achieved.
  • Changing schedules to meet customer/network demands.
  • Liaising with drivers and colleagues to ensure all day-to-day activities are met to the highest possible standards.
  • Ensuring our drivers are delivering effectively and reporting delays effectively.
  • Trouble shooting critical transport related issues as they arise in a live environment.

Key Skills & Experience

  • The ability to utilise and manage people effectively.
  • Full training for the in-house systems will be provided, however a good knowledge of computer skills will be required.
  • Flexible approach with regards to working hours
  • Able to work under pressure in a time-critical environment.
  • Well organised with an acute attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
