Maintenance Manager | Manchester | Up to £72,000 per annum

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen with one of the UK’s leading rolling stock businesses to join their team as a Maintenance Manager. This role will be overseeing the contractual overhaul services across three depots, monitoring expenditure against contract, leading a team of engineers and seeking to optimise the longer term maintenance cycle to seek continual improvements.

This position requires an experienced engineering professional who can lead a technical team, oversee engineering processes, and collaborate with senior internal and external stakeholders. Our client has a culture of promoting from within, and this role has become available due to an internal promotion. There is also the opportunity to travel both nationally and internationally within the organisation.

This is a high-profile role which requires direct communication with senior colleagues within the business as well as external stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone motivated by challenge and seeking an opportunity to have a real impact on the continued success of the business.

Candidate Essentials:

  • Proven experience in project or operational management within a rolling stock industry
  • Leadership expertise - motivating teams and making decisive problem-solving decisions.
  • Technical proficiency, including reviewing and analysing procedures and seeking continual improvements.
  • HNC/D or above in Engineering with strong and relevant experience.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills - with a results-driven approach.
