Are you looking for a new and rewarding technical challenge? If you have experience of maintenance and repair of plant equipment or heavy vehicles, you are the expert we are looking for! We have an exciting opportunity at our Manchester Airport site for a qualified Mechanic to join our team.

Our client are market leaders within the field of Ground Service Equipment repair and maintenance, and is part of  the leading global provider of integrated solutions for Ground Support Equipment (GSE) in aviation.

 The Role:

This is a varied Workshop and Airside based position, where you will play a crucial part in the success of the company by offering your expert mechanical knowledge to diagnose and repair on-site airport equipment, such as towing tractors, aircraft tugs, baggage elevators and a variety of specialist, unique vehicles. The suitable candidate will be mechanically skilled and a good problem solver in order to effectively maintain on site equipment.

This is an exciting prospect for someone from a mechanical or electrical background, who is looking to develop their skill set through working in a varied and dynamic role. 

The Person:

  • Self-motivated

  • Clear understanding of Health and Safety systems

  • Ability to work under your own initiative 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • City and Guilds certification in Motor Mechanics or equivalent (essential)

  • Experience of heavy vehicles maintenance 

  • Experience working on commercial or plant vehicles (desirable, but not essential) 

You will need to:

  • Be able to demonstrate your Right To Work in the UK

  • Be able to obtain an airside pass which will require you to undergo a criminal record check and 5-year history verification

  • Hold a valid UK driving licence

  • Provide certifications for all qualifications

 

Working Hours:

  • Monday - Friday 06:30 - 15:00 whilst training ( roughly 3 - 6 weeks ) and then shifts will be a 4on 4off 12 hr shifts (Apply online only))
