We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced Lecturer in PMLD to join our college team in London. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who has worked with learners with complex needs and is committed to delivering inclusive education tailored to individual abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specialist Teaching: Deliver tailored lessons to students with profound and multiple learning disabilities, using multi-sensory approaches and adaptive technologies.
  • Individualised Learning Plans: Develop and implement personalised education plans in collaboration with support staff and external specialists.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, and SENCO to ensure holistic support for each learner.
  • Safeguarding & Wellbeing: Maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and emotional wellbeing.
  • Enrichment Activities: Support students during activity days and residential trips, promoting independence and social development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students with PMLD in educational or care settings.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and person-centred approaches.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet complex and varied learning needs.
