The school caters for pupils aged5 -19yearswith ASC (Autistic Spectrum Conditions)SCLN(Speech, language, and communication needs)and other complex needsacrossseveralsites in the area.
Theyrequirea Learning Support Assistant, ideally withpreviousexperience providing support for young people withadditionalneeds, and who is committed to increasing life chances for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The successful applicant will join an established team of class and seniorteachers,andLearning Support Assistants.
Team Teach qualification isrequiredalthough training can be provided.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience in an education or health care setting, and be able to liaise with a large, multi-disciplinary team
- Have excellent communication skills and willbe responsible forproviding feedback to pupils and their parents/carers on a regular basis
- Ideally have a valid Team Teach certificate
- Be comfortable with personal care and support feeding due to the complexity of pupil needs
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop a happy, safe, and stimulating learning environment which meets pupils' physical, academic,socialand emotional needs
- Support young people to develop their confidence, resilience, and independence for life beyond school
- Support teachers in the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum which meets individual needs and prepares pupils for employment and success after their school journey
- Liaise with parents/carers and a multi-disciplinary team to ensure holistic support for pupils andprovidea wide range of experience
