Reed are collaborating with a leading disaster restoration company who are dedicated to providing top-notch restoration services for properties affected by fire, water, and accidental damage who are looking for an External Contents Handler. As a Contents Handler, you will be responsible for the careful handling, packing, transportation, and storage of household contents and personal belongings, ensuring they are treated with the utmost care and respect.
Full UK driving license is required.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Carefully pack, load, and unload household items using appropriate materials and equipment to ensure safe transportation.
- Transport household goods from one location to another, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Complete detailed inventories of items before removal to ensure all belongings are accounted for.
- Identify and document any existing damage to items, ensuring all non-peril related damage is photographed and reported.
- Follow strict wrapping and packing processes to minimize the risk of damage during handling and transit.
- Ensure compliance with company policies regarding the disposal and recycling of unrestorable items.
- Maintain clean and tidy work environments, including company vehicles and warehouse spaces.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members to coordinate efforts and address challenges.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in moving services, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Full driving UK licence.
- Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills.
- Ability to assemble and dismantle household furniture carefully.
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Good level of fitness as the job can be physically demanding.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
