Start date: ASAP 

We are currently recruiting for an experienced support assistant with experience supporting individuals with severely complex physical needs. This will be to work in a special school setting with students age range from 3 – 19 years old.

It is highly important you are committed and passionate about supporting children and young people that have severely complex physical needs. Which will include hands on support dealing with Personal care, tracheostomy, medication and epilepsy.

Job spec and description:

  • GNVQ level two or above in Health and social care or equivalent.
  • Strongly passionate in supporting children and young people with severely complex physical needs.
  • Willingness to get involved with medical and personal care aspects of supporting the students.
  • Understanding the needs and specific care of the students.
  • The school will offer specific training; Medication training, hoist training, epilepsy training, moving and handling training.
  • Personal care is required which will be a 2:1 or 3:1 depending on the student.
  • Supporting the students that are nasogastric feeding.
  • Must have a real passion and willingness to work with the students in a special school setting.
  • Must hold Child & adult Workforce DBS on the update service.
