Role Overview:

Provides detailed physical design, development, enhancement, and support for applications and systems. Performs system development and maintenance activities. Identifies ways to expand the efficiency and the effectiveness of the application development team. Leads projects or subprojects and coaches and mentors' other software engineers within the team. Ensures offshore development team have a consistent flow of development work and helps the team to reach the deadlines set. Provides details specifications for development work, which will allow the team to complete the work to the best of their ability and minimise mistakes. Ensures prioritisation of all works is adhered to and reacts quickly to urgent support needs, whilst communicating effectively to all stake holders

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and develops solutions to various problems either independently or in a team environment; designs and maintains efficient code that is reliable.
  • Forms technical documents such as a design specification document, and technical documentation.
  • Utilizes relational databases by integrating data storage solutions.
  • Finds solutions to reduce issues and defects.
  • Controls the UK and External work lists, ensuring that they are always up to date.
  • Guides team personnel by recommending software design and development opportunities/best practices.
  • Working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery), C#, SQL, ASP.NET, GitHub you will be involved in the full lifecycle of development including analysis, design, deployment and version control.
  • Attend and complete training courses set for you, to further develop your knowledge and skills within the field.
  • Aid the IT support team with support tickets related to in house applications.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills by ensuring team deadlines are adhered to, communicating effectively and leading by example.
