Academics are urgently recruiting for a temporary, SEN Teaching Assistant to work at a local school to Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant the hours are between Mon- Fri, 8:30am to 3:30pm, term time only.

This role is great for you if you have a passion for SEN and can develop good relationships with young children, have knowledge of safeguarding practices and a keen interest in supporting children within education.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will provide support to children with SEN, ensuring their specific needs are met. Assist classroom teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons. Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students. Promote positive behaviour and social interaction among students. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and other professionals.

Skills/ experience which are advantageous when working as a SEN Teaching Assistant are:

  • First Aid Training
  • Experience working in an educational environment (ideally 6 months or more)
  • Safeguarding knowledge
  • Leadership qualities
  • Good communication skills
