Plant Operator - Anaerobic Digestion

Alecto Recruitment is partnering with a growing and established company within the Anaerobic Digestion sector who are looking for a Plant Operator to join their site in March, Cambridgeshire.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor the AD plant via the SCADA system.
  • Conduct daily process checks and tests (DM, Fos/Tac, gas quality).
  • Operate the straw processing line and feedstock systems.
  • Carry out visual inspections and first-line maintenance (e.g., pump changes).
  • Drive plant machinery (Telehandler, 360 excavator).
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Provide out-of-hours support and participate in the call-out rota.
  • Record lab samples, complete daily logs, and assist with shift handovers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualification in an engineering or related discipline preferred.
  • Experience operating within a process or plant environment.
  • Licensed and competent to operate Telehandler and 360 excavators.
  • Strong understanding of plant operations, fault finding, and maintenance.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Proactive, safety-focused, and team-oriented approach.
