An ambitious and well-established multi-disciplinary construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate Director to join their growing commercial team. This senior position is ideal for a Chartered Quantity Surveyor looking to step into strategic leadership across high-profile projects and wider business operations.

As an Associate Director, you'll oversee the commercial performance of key commissions, lead project teams, and manage senior and intermediate Quantity Surveyors. This role blends project delivery with operational management - from client liaison and fee structures to internal governance and resource planning.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, the Associate Director will contribute to strategic decision-making, support team development, and play a visible role in business growth and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities of the Associate Director:

  • Lead Quantity Surveying and Employer's Agent services across complex projects
  • Manage commercial delivery, programme, budgets, and quality assurance
  • Oversee resource allocation, fee management, job costing, and team structures
  • Build and maintain strong client and consultant relationships
  • Identify new business and repeat work opportunities
  • Mentor junior staff and support team development and performance
  • Ensure compliance with internal systems and industry standards
  • Represent the business at networking and client-facing events

Key Requirements for the Associate Director Role:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
  • Chartered MRICS (or equivalent professional membership)
  • Strong knowledge of JCT, NEC and various procurement routes
  • Experience leading major public and private sector projects
  • Proven ability to manage resources, teams, and fee structures
  • Excellent communication, client-facing, and leadership skills
  • Technically proficient with Microsoft Office, CostX, BIM/CAD tools
