Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Day Shift
Location: Market Harborough
Start: ASAP
Hours: Monday–Friday, 07:00 – 17:00 (1 day) / 07:00 – 16:30 (4 days) – 48 hours average per week
Rate: £20.79 per hour

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our on-site engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on plant machinery (pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulics).

  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) using CMMS systems (e.g., Holistech) to minimise downtime.

  • Respond to breakdowns efficiently, diagnosing faults and repairing/replacing parts safely.

  • Collaborate with production teams to maximise equipment performance.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, statutory documentation, and compliance logs.

  • Work independently and as part of a small engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Apprentice-trained Mechanical Engineer (minimum Level 3) with industrial/manufacturing experience.

  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostics skills.

  • Experience with pumps, hydraulics, conveyors, gearboxes, and other mechanical systems.

  • Knowledge of PPM systems in a production environment.

  • Understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities in an industrial setting.

  • Strong communication skills (Level 3 English/IELTS or equivalent).

  • Proactive, motivated, and flexible, with a willingness to work weekends/shifts as needed.

  • Eligible to work in the UK.
