Reed Education are currently exclusively supporting a lovely primary school in LN8 with their recruitment for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a child who has autism. The school are ideally looking for someone who can start in September 2025 and work on an ongoing basis. There is an opportunity for the position to become permanent. You will work 08:30 until 15:30 and there may be occasional training.

The school is a mid-sized primary school and a slightly higher than average pupil premium. It has a present, caring and organised senior leadership team and you will be well supported by a fantastic team.

Day to Day of the Role:

• Work closely with your 1:1 child to support their learning and social/emotional development.

• Maintain consistent behaviour management in line with the school's behaviour policy, ensuring positive reinforcement is used.

• Communicate regularly with the children's parents/guardians with updates, alongside outside agencies and the school's SLT and SENCO.

• Regularly keep up to date with changes in the EHCP, policies, strategies and CPD.

• Observe, assess, and record each child’s progress, sharing outcomes with parents and colleagues.

• Collaborate with other team members to create a cohesive and supportive environment.

• Attend staff meetings and participate in training and development opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A childcare/TA qualification is desirable but not necessary

• Proven experience working with children

• An enhanced DBS check with child barred list (this can be applied for through Reed).
