Job Overview

I have been requested to support our client to recruit a skilled and detail-focused Cabinet Maker to join our client's established workshop based in Marlborough. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced craftsperson to work on bespoke, high-quality furniture and cabinetry in a collaborative and well-equipped environment. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for fine woodworking, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and assemble custom-built cabinets and furniture pieces to client specifications.
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings, ensuring precision in all dimensions and finishes.
  • Select and prepare materials such as hardwoods, veneers, and decorative elements to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Operate a variety of woodworking tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workshop, ensuring tools and equipment are well looked after.
  • Carry out quality control checks on finished items, making refinements where necessary to achieve top standards.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in cabinet making or fine woodworking, with a portfolio of completed work.
  • Strong understanding of woodworking methods, materials, and finishing techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings and design plans.
  • High level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to work.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and adaptable attitude toward challenges and deadlines.
