Based Marlborough - Hybrid working with flexible working hours

Basic Salary - £60,000 up to £80,000 depending on experience, 34 days holidays, pension. It also offers professional career development, progression and autonomy i.e. support to complete STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) qualification or other relevant qualifications.

As a Private Client Solicitor, the successful candidate will have a proven history in private client work and a passion for delivering excellent service to a range of primarily farming and land-owning clients.

As a Private Client Solicitor, you will have a professional and approachable demeanour along with an empathetic approach to dealing with clients during challenging times.

You will be proactive by nature, self-motivated with a drive to achieve excellent outcomes and adaptable to embrace new challenges and opportunities.

Candidate Skills

  • Hold a Law Degree / CILEX, LCP/SQE, SRA Practising Certificate.
  • You will be a qualified Solicitor with a Practising Certificate in England and Wales with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in private client work.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislations including wills, trusts, probate, and tax law.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with legal technology and case management software.
  • Able to supervise Paralegals and/or trainees as required.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and spoken.

Duties

Managing a varied caseload of private client matters, including but not limited to:

  • Drafting Wills, Estate Planning, Trust Creation and Administration, Probate and Estate Administration, Powers of Attorney, Tax planning
  • Able to provide a clear and tailored advice to clients, ensuring an elevated level of client care and satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery across the firm.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in legislation and best practices in private client law.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory and professional standards.
