I'm currently recruiting for a Test Technician to join a specialist electronics testing organisation based in Wiltshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an electronics background who is keen to develop hands-on experience in component authentication and counterfeit detection within a regulated aerospace/defence environment.
The Role
You'll be responsible for carrying out electrical and physical testing of electronic components in line with AS6171 Moderate Risk Level 2 standards, ensuring all work meets strict quality, customer and industry requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Component testing and inspection to AS6171 standards
Visual (external/internal) inspection, X-ray analysis and decapsulation
Identification of counterfeit or non-conforming components
Accurate documentation and reporting of test results
Maintaining laboratory equipment, cleanliness and ESD compliance
Supporting continuous improvement within the test function
About You
Background in electronics or electronics engineering
Hands-on experience with test equipment (e.g. multimeters, power supplies, microscopes)
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Knowledge of AS6171/AS6081 or aerospace/defence standards advantageous
Familiar with ESD principles
Experience with LabVIEW or similar software beneficial
Willing to be trained on specialist test equipment where required
What's On Offer
Salary 25k-30k depending on experience
