Are you an education professional passionate about supporting young people outside of mainstream settings? Prospero Teaching are looking for Tutors across Marlborough to provide Maths and English support to learners accessing alternative provision.



About the Learners:

Our young people range from ages 4 to post-16 and may experience:

  • Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Anxiety or Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
  • Medical needs
  • Be at risk of exclusion or permanently excluded (PEX)

Each learner is unique, and tutoring is tailored to meet their individual needs, helping them re-engage with education in a safe and supportive environment.

As a Tutor you will:

    • Provide tuition tailored to the young person's needs.
    • Support their educational engagement and help them access learning opportunities.
    • Foster social development and emotional resilience.
    • Create a safe, trusting relationship that encourages growth and self-belief.
    • Work collaboratively with the young person's wider support network.

About you:

  • Experience working with diverse learner profiles, including SEN and SEMH
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths and English
  • Ability to adapt teaching styles to suit individual needs
  • Patience, creativity, and a trauma-informed approach
  • Experience in education settings- minimum of 1 year

Full time/part-time - Opportunities for both
Hours - 10 Hours per week- for the right candidate, this can be increased to full time with additional tuition opportunities


Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

      • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
