Head of Security Operations

Marlow - Hybrid

Up to £120,000 base salary + bonus

VIQU have partnered with a leading Managed Service Provider who are recruiting for a Head of Security Operations to lead and manage the Security Operations Centre (SOC). The candidate must have experience working in a Managed Service setting and must have either set up or improved an existing SOC in this company.

This is a strategic role, coming in to improve the SOC over time, automate processes, improve scalability and manage members of the team.

Key responsibilities of the Head of Security Operations:

  • Manage the continual improvement of the SOC team (currently 26 people), leading it to become more automated and scalable.
  • Develop the SOC, ensuring it can serve international clients.
  • Implement and come up with new processes and manage governance of the SOC.
  • Act as a senior point of escalation – including but not limited to, hierarchical, technical and customer escalations.
  • Ensure that integration, release and operational procedures and practices are well defined, documented and consistently applied.

Experience needed for the Head of Security Operations:

  • Must hold experience of working in a senior capacity in Managed Service setting.
  • Must have previously either developed a new SOC team, or led and improved an existing SOC team, ensuring that it is scalable and automated.
  • Have a strong personality, with an ability to lead a team and manage key stakeholders within the business.
  • Relevant Security industry certifications, CISSP/CISM
  • Strong understanding of sophisticated threat actor methodologies, technical tools (Sentinel, Alienvault ect.) and experience in incident response and forensic investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes.
