Reports To: Senior Care Assistant / Nurse in Charge / Home Manager

Job Purpose:

To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and wellbeing in accordance with individual care plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.

  • Support residents with mobility and physical activities, including using mobility aids and transferring.

  • Help with meal preparation, serving, and assisting residents with eating and drinking as needed.

  • Monitor and record residents health and wellbeing, reporting any changes to the senior team.

  • Provide emotional support and companionship, encouraging social interaction and engagement in activities.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with care plans and home policies.

  • Follow health and safety, safeguarding, and infection control procedures at all times.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.

  • Uphold residents confidentiality, dignity, and respect at all times.

Requirements:
  • Previous care experience is desirable but not essential training will be provided.

  • A caring, patient, and compassionate nature.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings.

  • An understanding of or willingness to learn about the needs of older people and those with dementia.
