Head Chef – Traditional Country Pub (Lea, Matlock, Derbyshire)
Permanent, Live-Out | £41,000 per annum | 40 hours per week
We are looking for a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen at our much-loved country pub in Lea, Matlock. Serving proper pub food, local cask ales, and welcoming both families and dogs, we pride ourselves on offering hearty classics in a relaxed, friendly setting. With live music events throughout the year and a sun-soaked garden terrace for the warmer months, our pub is a true community hub.
The Head Chef Role:
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for:

Designing and delivering a delicious winter menu, plus weekly specials with your own creative stamp.

Leading the kitchen team to deliver consistent, freshly cooked pub classics.

Managing stock, ordering, and kitchen costings.

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food hygiene.

Working collaboratively with management to ensure smooth service.
Head Chef requirements:

Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, ideally in a pub or casual dining setting.

A love of proper pub food with the creativity to add your own twist.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a small team.

Organised, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards.
