Key Account Manager - FMCG | Package: £40,000 - £45,000, Annual bonus, company car, pension

Location: Field-based (UK-wide coverage, with 1 or 2 days a week in East Midlands office)

Reporting To: Head of Sales

Role Summary:We are seeking a driven and commercially minded Key Account Manager to help grow market share across forecourt, convenience, and symbol group retailers. This is an excellent development opportunity for someone with field sales or junior account management experience, ready to step up and take ownership of regional and national retail group accounts.

As the Key Account Manager, you'll work both at store level and with buyers at head office, focusing on increasing product distribution, improving visibility, and driving sales through exceptional account management and field execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of forecourt, convenience, and symbol group accounts, increasing product listings and in-store presence.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within aligned customer groups, targeting both head office and site level decision makers.
  • Build strong relationships with key buyers, regional managers, and franchisees to support product expansion and promotional activity.
  • Conduct regular store visits nationwide to ensure product availability, visibility, compliance with planograms, and delivery of promotional plans.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, training store teams and championing the product portfolio.
  • Prepare and deliver business reviews and account plans for key customers.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Field Sales or Key account manager, ideally within FMCG environments
  • Experience working with forecourt or convenience retailers (e.g., symbol groups, independent retailers, or petrol forecourts).
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of driving ROI through visibility and availability.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Passionate about brand building and delivering excellent customer experiences.
