Commercial Business Partner

Client Details

A specialist green/circular economy SME business based in Derbyshire with a turnover of circa £20m and part of a highly acquisitive International Group.

Description

  • Working as a key member of the SLT, play a key part in deciding the strategic direction of the business and supporting organic growth and post acquisition integration projects.
  • Ensure month-end activities are completed on time and exceptions are reported immediately to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop a management reporting pack for the business providing key insights and commentary on financial performance.
  • Support in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly P&L forecasting.
  • Identify and report KPIs.
  • Prepare and maintain 12-week cash flow forecasts.
  • Develop robust business cases for capital projects.
  • Co-ordinate the year-end audit process, preparing relevant schedules and supporting evidence to the Group audit team.
  • Maintain and develop internal controls with support of the Divisional Finance Team.
  • Seek to continuously improve processes and knowledge across the business.
  • Attend regular off site meetings with the Divisional Team and SLT.

Profile

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with previous experience in a senior finance role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the business and develop strong working relationships.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching staff of all levels.
  • Proven experience of process improvement and development of controls and governance.
  • Ability to consistently deliver high quality, accurate and timely financial information, often to tight deadlines.
  • Commercial acumen and analytical skills, underpinned by strong Excel skills combined with the ability to present financial information visually.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts with non-finance people.
  • Technically sound knowledge of management accounting principles and practice
