My client in the Midlands is looking to appoint talented Director of Digital (Local Authority) on a Contract basis.

The role will have overall responsibility for the Council's technology infrastructure, systems and the budgets which provide them, to support all of the Council's services.

About the role:

Based in the Midlands (Hybrid - 2-3 days on site):

  • To lead the Council's Digital, Data and Technology functions, ensuring accessible, secure, reliable and responsive live services are maintained in line with user expectations.
  • To lead on the implementation of the Council's DDAT strategy, including modernising the service to ensure customer focus, greater engagement with services.
  • Strategic oversight of all technology operations, devising standard ways of working and reviewing / establishing IT policies and systems to support Council modernisation.
  • Take responsibility of the Council's overall technology spend, ensuring it is efficient, effective, provides value for money and gives a clear understanding of the full costs of service delivery.

About you:

You will have the following skillsets or experiences:

  • Extensive experience as a leader of DDAT in a Local Authority or Public Sector context.
  • Complete understanding of the technological and digital architecture of a Local Authority.
  • Outstanding budget management skills.
  • Significant experience in a diverse range of ICT disciplines including strategic and customer management in a large complex organisation

What's on offer:

  • Salary: £1100-£1200 per day Inside IR35
