Role Description - Technician

This is a full-time on-site role for a Technician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting quality control tests, utilizing analytical and laboratory skills, operating laboratory equipment, and performing various tasks related to laboratory procedures.

The successful candidate will be expected to produce technical data according to standard operating procedures (SOP’s), maintain all equipment and instrumentation, and preparing samples for testing. They will report outcomes effectively and communicate/interact with all business functions.

Salary Range £27,000 - £30,000 (dependant on experience) Mon-Fri (3 shifts)

Qualification: No formal qualifications but GCSE A-C in Maths and Science is desirable

  • Quality conscious and methodical approach to work, with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong integrity
  • Experience of working in a laboratory environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be given

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage own workload and work to deadlines

Responsibilities:Technician

  • Performing laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data to support Quality Assurance and New Product Development
  • Carrying out routine tasks accurately and precisely
  • Preparing specimens and samples; assembling, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment
  • Ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced
  • Recording and interpreting results to present to senior colleagues, when required
  • Using computers and performing simple mathematical calculations
  • Keeping up to date with technical developments
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards
  • To work safely 100% of the time
  • To ensure that all assigned work is delivered in a timely manner
  • To communicate we with both internal and external customers
