Lighting / Daylight Consultant - East Midlands

A specialist UK-based Environmental and Engineering Consultancy, is seeking a Lighting / Daylight Consultant to join their growing team in the East Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with experience in daylight, sunlight and lighting assessments to develop their career in a multidisciplinary consultancy.

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrable experience in lighting consultancy, including Daylight/Sunlight and Lighting Impact Assessments.

  • Working knowledge of BRE guidelines and lighting regulations.

  • Proficiency with lighting simulation/modelling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Waldrum Tools, SketchUp).

  • Excellent communication skills and report writing capabilities.

  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Progress toward membership of the Institute of Lighting Professionals (ILP).

  • Experience liaising with planning authorities and delivering client presentations.

  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary project teams.

The Role:You will be responsible for delivering daylight, sunlight, and lighting assessments for planning and design purposes. You will conduct site visits, prepare technical documentation, liaise with clients and stakeholders, and contribute to project delivery across residential, commercial and public sector developments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing client relationships and delivering high-quality technical reports.

  • Performing modelling, visual assessments, and mitigation strategy development.

  • Supporting junior staff and contributing to business development.

  • Attending site visits, client meetings, and project reviews.
