You will be working with children and young people who have special educational needs and therefore you must be committed to creating a happy, safe and caring environment where they can learn and communicate with confidence. The overall goal is for all students to be happy, healthy and have a sense of belonging and purpose.
This important role will not only support students but also the teachers, and the school to ensure a positive learning environment at all times. The students have a variety of special educational needs, anxieties and phobias.
It is desirable to have experience in a similar role, but not essential, if you can demonstrate you have transferable skills in other areas of your employment history. You will be motivated, flexible and resilient with a desire to educate and support children and young people with a basic understanding of SEN, with good literacy and numeracy skills.
