Job Description:
Are you a skilled machinist with strong milling experience looking to take your career in a new direction?

An established and highly regarded technical training provider is recruiting a Mechanical Engineering Instructor to deliver hands-on training in machining, with a particular focus on manual milling.

This is an excellent opportunity to step away from the tools and into a rewarding training environment where you’ll be helping to develop the next generation of engineers.

No formal teaching experience is required – full training and a recognised teaching qualification will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver practical training in manual milling and workshop-based machining techniques

  • Instruct and support learners in health & safety, machine operation, and workshop best practices

  • Deliver and assess practical and theory sessions in a structured training environment

  • (Desirable) Support learners in CNC machining if experienced

  • Maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organised training workshop

Essential Requirements:

  • Time-served background in manual machining, particularly milling

  • Confident communicator with a genuine interest in developing others

  • CNC knowledge is a bonus but not essential

  • Willingness to complete an assessor and instructor qualification (fully funded)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience mentoring apprentices or junior machinists

  • Exposure to a training or educational environment
