A welcoming and supportive school in Mayfield, East Sussex is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Support Staff member to provide personalised assistance to a pupil with additional learning needs. This full-time role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about helping children thrive both academically and emotionally.

We are keen to hear from individuals with experience supporting children or young people in any capacity, whether in education, care, or community settings. A genuine commitment to inclusive practice and a desire to make a meaningful difference are essential.

In this role, you will:
  • Provide consistent 1:1 support to help a pupil access learning and daily routines

  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation in line with school policies

  • Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to implement tailored strategies

  • Support learning both in the classroom and through alternative activities such as sensory play, movement breaks, or outdoor learning

  • Build a trusting, supportive relationship that helps the pupil feel confident and secure
