Salary: £27,000–£45,000 (experience-dependent) + 5–10% bonus
Hours: 36.5 hrs/wk (Mon–Thu 8:30am–5:00pm, Fri 8:30am–4:00pm, 1 hr unpaid break)

Join a dynamic engineering team as a Tooling and Sustaining Engineer, supporting mould tool design and sustaining operations. Ideal for engineers eager to grow or experienced professionals ready to make an impact. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you’ll drive efficient tooling solutions for advanced manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mould tools from concept to production, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

  • Support legacy tooling through maintenance, repairs, and process improvements.

  • Utilize 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and analytical tools for robust tool design.

  • Conduct process verification, capability studies, and SPC analysis to optimize production.

  • Manage tooling asset registers, audits, and capex investments.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to meet project goals.

  • Support production uptime via preventative maintenance and structured problem-solving.

  • Stay updated on new technologies, materials, and Six Sigma methodologies.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree, HNC, HND, or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related technical discipline.

  • Experience in mould tool design and manufacturing processes.

  • Strong hands-on skills, analytical tool design experience, and proficiency in 3D CAD.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across teams.

  • Desirable: SolidWorks experience, CAE/FEA knowledge, or prototyping skills.
