About the Role
We're looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team at a well-established 4-bed children's home in Melksham.

You'll be supporting vulnerable children and young people, many of whom have experienced trauma, neglect, or disrupted family lives, by providing a safe, supportive, and stable environment to help them heal, build confidence, and develop life skills.

This is more than just a job. You will be a trusted adult, role model, and consistent presence, helping with daily routines, education, hobbies, and relationships as you guide each young person toward their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build trusting relationships with children and young people based on respect and consistency

  • Support emotional wellbeing, behavioural challenges, and therapeutic care plans

  • Promote education, independence, and social development

  • Oversee daily routines including meals, activities, and appointments

  • Mentor and guide junior team members

  • Ensure the home meets safeguarding and regulatory standards

Requirements

  • QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent)

  • Experience in residential childcare

  • Calm, resilient, and confident in managing challenging behaviour

  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills

  • Committed to high-quality care and helping young people thrive
