Are you passionate about science and animals? Join a world-renowned research facility dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of pets. We're looking for three Laboratory Technicians to support cutting-edge research in a dynamic laboratory setting.

The Role

As a Trial Support Technician, you will play a vital hands-on role in the laboratory, providing essential support for the implementation of research trials. You'll work with biological samples, prepare test materials, and ensure data is accurately recorded-all contributing to impactful studies that help shape the future of pet care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out a range of laboratory procedures with precision, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.

  • Prepare samples and test solutions for in vivo testing with cats and dogs.

  • Process biological materials (e.g, saliva, faeces) for analysis.

  • Assist in preparing supplements and pet food for trials.

  • Maintain accurate records using various digital systems (LIMS, Excel, XDL).

  • Support research scientists with trial preparations and post-trial reviews.

  • Help develop and test new laboratory methodologies.

  • Attend team meetings and collaborate on trial updates.

What You'll Be Working On
  • Up to 8 different trials per week, each with unique procedures and goals.

  • Sample movement and labelling across the site.

  • Compliance with SOPs, risk assessments, and safe chemical disposal.

  • Supporting innovation in trial techniques and lab equipment use.

About You
  • Educated to A-Level (or equivalent) in a scientific subject; further study (e.g., BSc) is desirable.

  • Previous lab experience through education or industry.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

  • Able to manage multiple techniques and tasks within a single day.

  • Comfortable working to deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.

  • Confident communicator and effective team player.

  • Computer literate with a proactive attitude to learning.
