My FMCG manufacturing are seeking a proactive and technically skilled HSE Manager to lead, develop and continuously improve the site's HSE standards. This is a key leadership role, ensuring legal compliance, aligning with group and customer expectations, and driving a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the operation.

My client are a highly reputable, market-leading food manufacturer in the Melton, Leicestershire area.

Description

  • Provide strategic direction and expert advice on HSE matters to management and wider teams
  • Develop, implement and maintain robust HSE and environmental management systems that meet legal, group, and customer requirements
  • Ensure compliance with ISO14001:2015, permit and regulator obligations, and site-specific security standards
  • Lead the planning, review, measurement and auditing of all HSE activities
  • Set minimum health and safety standards and promote best practice across the site
  • Keep up to date with legislation and industry developments, ensuring timely communication of updates
  • Lead emergency planning and maintain effective communication with emergency services and enforcement bodies
  • Compile, analyse and communicate HSE performance data to drive continual improvement and inform site priorities
  • Support the business in achieving HSE objectives on time and within budget
  • Maintain the Environmental Policy, EMS Manual and Legal Register
  • Deliver HSE training needs analysis and ensure effective implementation
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders - regulators, insurers and customers.
  • Conduct management reviews, internal audits, and actively contribute to group reporting
  • Manage the HSE budget, ensuring accurate tracking and alignment with business performance goals
  • Take responsibility for site security operations at the Melton facility

Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, qualified HSE Manager with a proven ability to drive standards and lead cultural change.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • NEBOSH Diploma essential; Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) preferred
  • IEMA qualification desirable
  • Strong background in HSE, preferably within food manufacturing or complex FMCG manufacturing
  • Experience in HSE auditing and implementation of ISO14001
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, evolving environment
