SEN Teaching Assistant - Merton SEN School - September 2025 Start

Pertemps Education is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established SEN school in Merton to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant role starting in September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated SEN TA to join a specialist setting that provides high-quality education and support for children with a range of complex needs. The school is committed to promoting communication, independence, and emotional development for all its pupils.

Salary:Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:
  • Support children with complex special educational needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, and developmental delay
  • Work as part of a collaborative and experienced SEN support team
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, both in the classroom and during structured learning activities
  • Encourage and facilitate independence, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Follow behaviour support plans and assist with personal care routines when required
  • Liaise with therapists, SEN professionals, and families to ensure consistent and holistic support

The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have substantial experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school or specialist setting
  • Be confident supporting non-verbal or minimally verbal pupils
  • Be proactive, patient, and adaptable in a busy and dynamic environment
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Be committed to safeguarding and inclusive education
