Elevation Recruitment are working in partnership with a long-standing engineering business based in Sheffield, who supply precision machined components to recruit a Skilled CNC Machinist.
CNC Setter Programmer – Heidenhain / 5 Axis MillingUp to £35,000 including shift allowance Shift: Mornings & Afternoons Rotherham – Permanent
Responsibilities:
- Programming, setting and operating 5-axis milling machines using Heidenhain controls
- Working to tight tolerances, reading from technical drawings
- Supporting continuous improvement in a clean, fast-paced production environment
- Occasional turning work using Fanuc-controlled lathes (desirable but not essential)
Requirements:
- Proven experience programming and setting 5-axis CNC milling machines
- Strong understanding of Heidenhain control systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Confident working to tight tolerances and production deadlines
- Either apprentice-trained or minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills and team mentality
- Comfortable using IT systems and interpreting works orders
- Able to use initiative and work independently when required
