We are seeking a Regeneration Service Manager to lead the Council’s Regeneration Service. This pivotal role involves overseeing a wide range of projects aimed at enhancing the local economy and community. You will be instrumental in both strategic planning and operational management, ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects through effective leadership and team management.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of complex projects, encompassing both construction and non-construction initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies for regeneration efforts, setting clear directions and objectives.
  • Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Mentor and support a team of project managers, fostering an environment of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the Council in negotiations and meetings with partners, stakeholders, and senior leaders.
  • Act as a deputy to the Head of Regeneration, stepping in as required to maintain leadership continuity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in managing large, complex projects within economic development.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of leading major projects and programmes.
  • Strong budget management skills, with experience in handling significant financial resources.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of producing and reviewing clear, accurate reports and updates.
  • Skilled in negotiation, particularly in contexts involving land, property, or regeneration deals.
  • Confident representation skills, able to effectively interact at senior levels.
  • Effective at partnership working, with a history of successful collaboration with various organisations and stakeholders.
  • Ability to deputise for senior roles, demonstrating leadership in the absence of the Head of Regeneration.
  • Experienced in team management, with a focus on developing skills and driving performance.
  • Independent and collaborative work style, adept at prioritising tasks to meet goals.
  • Knowledgeable about local government operations and the political landscape.
