Health and Safety Advisor (Training)

Our client is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to support in delivering key training and compliance objectives. This role is crucial for addressing a backlog in training across various safety disciplines and for enhancing overall organisational competence in health and safety practices. 

Day-to-Day of the Role: 

  • Conduct a comprehensive needs analysis to identify gaps in legal compliance, regulatory requirements, and risk-based priorities. 
  • Design and deliver tailored training packages that meet the specific needs of individuals and operational environments, focusing on manual handling, risk assessment, incident investigation, and fire safety. 
  • Balance face-to-face training sessions with computer-based training (CBT), managing some outsourced training components. 
  • Support future planning around site safety, business opportunity alignment, and maintaining minimum safety standards. 
  • Initially, focus on analysis and preparation in an office-based setting, transitioning to a hybrid work arrangement after the induction period. 

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Substantial experience in a busy Health and Safety environment, preferably within a similar role. 
  • Profound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulatory, and performance standards. 
  • Proficiency in using computer applications and ICT for training and analysis. 
  • Desirable qualifications include NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Risk Management, Construction Health and Safety, and a Training Qualification (e.g., AET, PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS). 
  • Strong communication skills, capable of exchanging complex information and engaging effectively with stakeholders. 
  • Ability to solve complex situations analytically and produce long-term solutions.
