We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Supply Music Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school on a full time, on going basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality music lessons to students aged 11–16 (KS3–KS4).
  • Follow lesson plans or adapt lessons to meet the needs of students and school policies.
  • Maintain a positive learning environment and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Encourage musical exploration, creativity, and performance in students of all skill levels.
  • Liaise with department staff to ensure continuity of learning where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Degree in Music or a related subject.
  • Previous teaching experience in a secondary school setting (desirable).
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to teach both practical and theoretical music components.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Flexibility, reliability, and a genuine passion for music education.

Desirable:

  • Experience preparing students for GCSE Music or equivalent qualifications.
  • Competence in using music technology and software (e.g. GarageBand, Sibelius).
  • Ability to lead extracurricular music activities or ensembles (optional).
