Finishing Operative

Rotherham

Shifts. Hours – Monday to Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Friday - 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. / Monday to Thursday 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday - 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Basic Salary £25,600 + A 25% shift allowance will be paid to the afternoon shift.

As a Finishing Operative you will be reporting into the Finishing Supervisor and will be responsible for working as part of a small close-knit team in a prestige environment.

Day to day duties will include:

  • Upgrade of castings in Ferrous / or Non-Ferrous alloys
  • Removing any defects from castings
  • Use of high and low pressure water jetting unit for ceramic removal.
  • Removal of metal running, feeding and gating systems using hand tools i.e. grinders, burrs, abrasive belts
  • Prepare casting ready for the welding process based upon the results from NDT and CMM investigation.
  • Dress castings back to drawing tolerance and profile and record results accordingly.
  • Conduct weld mapping activities

Key Requirements:

  • Ability to use measurement tools i.e. vernier, callipers, micrometres, depth gauges.
  • Ability to work to tight tolerance’s and always follow the required quality procedure
  • Be manually dexterous.
  • Possess a willingness to work overtime as and when required.
  • Positive and eager attitude towards work and learning new things
  • Have basic level mathematics
  • Full training for the right candidate
