Elevation Recruitment Group's Procurement & Supply Chain division are proud to be working in partnership with one of the region’s biggest manufacturers in their search for an Aftermarket Buyer to join the team at their Rotherham site.

Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, the Aftermarket Buyer will be responsible for handling everything to do with managing suppliers – from planning and buying to chasing up materials across your group of products. You’ll need to stay on top of forecasting and planning for each item, while also keeping inventory and spending under control. A big part of the job is helping out with new product requests from our customers.

Key duties of the Aftermarket Buyer will include:

  • Maintain and update pricing structures and price lists.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimise working capital and improve stock turnover.
  • Schedule and manage order books in alignment with inventory status and MRP recommendations; share material demand forecasts with suppliers to ensure smooth supply flow and prevent backorders.
  • Stay informed of departmental KPIs and actively contribute to achieving performance targets.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and cost-avoidance opportunities.
  • Review and process daily purchase orders based on MRP outputs and inventory policy reports.
  • Support and participate in periodic stocktaking activities.
  • Foster consistent communication across departments to enhance process efficiency.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Skilled in negotiating prices for both new and existing products.
  • Strong communication and collaborative team skills.
  • Quick problem-solver, able to perform well under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer use.
  • Experienced in buying, planning, and scheduling.
  • Background in automotive parts industry preferred.
