Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly successful and well-established manufacturing business based in Rotherham, as they look to appoint a Technical Buyer to join their growing procurement team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, proactive and commercially focused individual to play a pivotal role in the sourcing and procurement of technical components, materials, and services within a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Role:As Technical Buyer, you’ll be responsible for:

Managing end-to-end procurement of technical/engineering components and raw materials

Developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers, both UK and international

Supporting new product introductions (NPI) from a procurement perspective

Liaising closely with engineering, production, and planning teams to ensure material availability aligns with production requirements

Identifying cost saving opportunities, negotiating terms, and driving continuous improvement in the supply chain

Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring quality and delivery targets are met

Working with ERP/MRP systems to ensure accurate purchasing and stock levels

Proven experience in a Technical Buying or Procurement role within a manufacturing or engineering environment

Strong understanding of technical specifications and ability to interpret engineering drawings

Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills

Experience using MRP/ERP systems

Strong commercial awareness and communication skills

CIPS qualification (desirable but not essential)
