  • 7:00am – 3:00pm
  • 3:00pm – 10:00pm
  • 10:00pm – 7:00am (Waking Night)
  • 10:00am – 6:00pm

Are you looking for a truly rewarding role where you can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life? We’re seeking an empathetic, patient, and proactive Support Worker to join a dedicated care team providing 2:1 support for an individual with complex needs living in their family home in Bramley, Rotherham.

You’ll be supporting a gentle, creative individual living with multiple complex health conditions, including:

  • Severe learning disabilities
  • Rett syndrome (a genetic disorder causing severe impairments)
  • Hydrocephalus
  • Autism
  • Sleep apnoea
  • Scoliosis
  • GORD (reflux disorder)
  • Dysphagia (full training provided)

They enjoy a range of enriching and sensory-based activities like Crafting, playing musical instruments and listening to music, Baking, Watching DVDs – especially musicals and Sensory play.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver personal care with dignity and respect
  • Engage in meaningful activities based on their preferences
  • Follow manual handling procedures
  • Use a person-centred, PBS-informed approach to support behaviour and wellbeing
  • Monitor their sleep apnoea during the night (they do not use a CPAP machine, so require repositioning throughout the night for safety and comfort)
  • Support with nutrition and dysphagia needs (training provided)

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience with challenging behaviours
  • Experience with Learning disabilities and Autism
  • A team player who understands the importance of communication and consistency
  • Comfortable with pets and able to help maintain a positive home environment
  • Flexible to work as part of a 2:1 team when needed
