- 3:00pm – 10:00pm
- 10:00pm – 7:00am (Waking Night)
- 10:00am – 6:00pm
Are you looking for a truly rewarding role where you can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life? We’re seeking an empathetic, patient, and proactive Support Worker to join a dedicated care team providing 2:1 support for an individual with complex needs living in their family home in Bramley, Rotherham.
You’ll be supporting a gentle, creative individual living with multiple complex health conditions, including:
- Severe learning disabilities
- Rett syndrome (a genetic disorder causing severe impairments)
- Hydrocephalus
- Autism
- Sleep apnoea
- Scoliosis
- GORD (reflux disorder)
- Dysphagia (full training provided)
They enjoy a range of enriching and sensory-based activities like Crafting, playing musical instruments and listening to music, Baking, Watching DVDs – especially musicals and Sensory play.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver personal care with dignity and respect
- Engage in meaningful activities based on their preferences
- Follow manual handling procedures
- Use a person-centred, PBS-informed approach to support behaviour and wellbeing
- Monitor their sleep apnoea during the night (they do not use a CPAP machine, so require repositioning throughout the night for safety and comfort)
- Support with nutrition and dysphagia needs (training provided)
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience with challenging behaviours
- Experience with Learning disabilities and Autism
- A team player who understands the importance of communication and consistency
- Comfortable with pets and able to help maintain a positive home environment
- Flexible to work as part of a 2:1 team when needed
