Tradeiwind Recruitment is working with a forward-thinking mainstream Secondary school in Rotherham to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs TA) to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.

The Role:

• Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant role supporting children with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)

• Work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils with special educational needs

• Collaborate with the school SENCO, class teachers, and external professionals

• Help implement personalised support plans, monitor progress, and promote positive behaviour

• Based in a supportive primary school with a strong inclusion ethos

Key Requirements:

• Experience supporting children with special educational needs (in a school or care setting)

• Strong communication, empathy and behaviour management skills

• A positive, patient and resilient approach to working with children with additional needs

• A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate) is beneficial but not essential

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one through us)
