Surveyor

We are seeking experienced Surveyors to join our dynamic Estates Team, which is focused on developing our Commercial Property Portfolio and maximising the capital and income generation opportunities of Council assets. This role offers opportunities within both General Property and Strategic/Asset Management, depending on the candidate's expertise and career aspirations.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Conduct rent reviews, lease renewals, and general property management activities including marketing void properties and managing debts.
  • Engage in the acquisition and disposal of property assets.
  • Provide valuation, estates management, and surveying advice across various departments, promoting the effective use of property assets.
  • Assist in statutory valuations and support the Council’s accountancy functions.
  • Produce reports and provide advice for Council representatives and clients, acting as the Council's property representative.
  • Liaise with other departments on valuation, estate management, and surveying work.
  • Support the Estates Manager and Principal Estates Surveyor in various capacities, including attending meetings.
  • Contribute to land and premises reviews to support the Council’s priorities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • RICS qualification is highly desirable.
  • NQF Level 6 qualification (e.g., Bachelor Degrees, Graduate Certificates and Diplomas) or NQF Level 5 qualification (e.g., Diplomas of HE and FE, foundation degrees, and HNDs) with relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience in property/surveying activities, particularly in rent reviews, lease renewals, and property management.
  • Experience in the acquisition and disposal of property assets.
  • Ability to provide full support in setting up revised working practices and adopting new policies and procedures.
